Saddle Up! is a nonprofit Section 501 (c)(3) organization whose mission is to help children and youth with disabilities grow and develop through recreational activities with horses. We bring that mission to life by providing a year-round program on our 34-acre farm near Franklin, TN. For many of our riders, Saddle Up! is one of the few, if not the only, recreational programs available to them.
Your gifts are put to work right here in Middle Tennessee to make a positive difference in the lives of nearly 190 children and youth, ages 4 to 18, who daily deal with more than 50 types of disabilities.
To see how your gifts are put to work, please visit the About Us section of this website. Your donation is deductible to the full extent of the law.
We ask for your support to help keep our riders riding. Here are some ways you can help:
Gift to our Annual Fund campaign, now in progress
The annual fund campaign supports all the work of Saddle Up!. We encourage donors to support the annual campaign because it is the financial foundation upon which we bring the mission and program to life. Leadership gifts of $1,000 or more to the annual fund campaign qualify for membership in our Hoofing Society. Membership is recognized with a donor plaque in our family area of the barn and has other benefits. Gifts of all sizes are greatly appreciated and put to work year-round in our program.
Your gifts are greatly appreciated!
Sponsorship of a Saddle Up! horse
As you can imagine, maintaining a herd of 16 to 20 (or more) horses is not cheap. The current economic situation increases those costs with higher expenses for food, fuel and utilities. For an annual $1,000 sponsorship, your name is engraved on a plaque by the photo of your sponsored horse in our barn. And don’t be surprised if you get something in the mail – straight from the horse’s mouth!
Be sure to specify the horse you wish to sponsor in the Special Instructions field when you Check Out.
Sponsorship of a Saddle Up! cat
Not to be forgotten, our barn cats also need sponsors. For $150 a year, you can be a BFF to Katie, Madison, Momma Cat, Snip or Sweetie. They are very unusual cats and can be seen at any time typing, hanging out on an office chair or mousing around the barn.
Our kitties will appreciate your generous donation!
Saddle Up! is committed to making sure that any child eligible for the program can ride regardless of financial ability. You can help with a ridership gift. A $25 gift will cover one lesson fee for one rider – this is about 17% of the actual $150 cost to provide a lesson – while $400 would cover fees for one rider for one regular session.
$25 covers one lesson for one rider. $400 would provide lessons for one rider for an entire session.
