Todd Fritsch Names Saddle Up! as Beneficiary Nashville, TN- June 12, 2007- Former Tennessee Titan running back, Eddie George and his wife Taj, were surprise contestants at the Second Annual Michael Peterson/New Holland Celebrity Tractor Race, Sunday June 10th at the CMA Music Festival's Chevy Sports Zone in downtown Nashville. The Super Bowl champ joined several country music stars, including Billy Dean, Ty Herndon and Woody Bradshaw plus fellow Titans Daniel Loper, Michael Roos and Ben Hartsock in a race against the clock on a New Holland compact tractor.
George clocked a race time of 1:57, but Texas cowboy, Todd Fritsch, won the competition with a phenomenal track time of 52.6 seconds, a new course record.
Todd Fritsch is not only a top selling country artist, but he is also a working cowboy and the perfect contestant for this competition - he drove his first tractor at the age of five! He also spent four years as a member of the FFA before launching his music career.
As the winner of the race, Fritsch's charity of choice for the other half of the proceeds will be Saddle Up! Nashville, a therapeutic recreational horseback riding program designed for children with mental and physical disabilities.
“We’re deeply appreciative that Todd chose Saddle Up! to benefit from this event,” said Executive Director Cheryl Scutt. “Todd has first-hand knowledge, and experience, of what Saddle Up! is all about from his participation in our April media ridealong for celebrities. During that event, Todd rode in a mock lesson to see what some of our riders go through. His support of Saddle Up! is, as they’d say in the music business, a chart-topper.”
The Michael Peterson/New Holland Celebrity Tractor Race is a benefit for charity and half of the proceeds from the auction of a New Holland Boomer Tractor autographed by all the racers will be donated to the National FFA Organization.
