15hh bay American Quarter Horse gelding, Born 2004

Leroy — known as Tennessee Leroy – has the ultimate “been there, done that” personality and gives our riders a confidence building ride every time. He has been shown in western dressage and is a steady trail partner as well.

15.3hh American Paint gelding, Born 2007

Jackson has never met a stranger and loves everyone he meets! This pretty boy was professionally trained in dressage and also dabbled in liberty work. He is owned and loved by our own instructor, Corinna, and we are grateful for the loan of this good gelding.

13.3hh Norwegian Fjord gelding, Born 2009

Ike was a trail horse before he was generously offered to Saddle up! by Gloria Cooper. He is a gorgeous dun known for his steadiness in lessons and friendly personality. Ike loves greeting everyone at Saddle Up!, horses and humans alike.

16hh Quarter Horse gelding, Born 2001

Woody came to Saddle Up! after a successful career as a school horse at Asbury University in Kentucky and is on loan from owner Lisa Thompson. Woody is kind and gentle and has smooth gaits with easy transitions. He will work with our riders at every gait and can be trusted to be a good off lead horse for our advanced riders. He is a true gem!

14.3hh Paint gelding, Born 2003

Sandman came to Saddle Up! with his best buddy, Woody. He was previously a show and schooling horse at Asbury University and is on loan from owner Lisa Thompson. Sandman is a perfect therapy horse, quiet with his riders under every circumstance — a true “Steady Eddy” and we are thrilled he has joined our handsome herd of paint geldings.

16.3hh Spotted Draft Cross gelding, Born 2010

Ronan began his life as a husband horse, he was then trained to bring a young girl’s vaulting dreams alive. Though Ronan was well loved and trained, his little girl advanced at vaulting faster than his body allowed him to, so with many tears the decision was made to sell Ronan. His purchase for the SU! Adaptive Vaulting program was generously funded in honor of Thomas and Barbara Schommer. Ronan’s steadiness and loving personality fit right in at SU! and his love of food and affection are noted by all who work with him. Our vaulting program is so glad to have him!

14.2hh Haflinger mare, Born 2015

We suspect that sweet Scout was a carriage horse in her previous career; we know that she was a steady trail partner. Scout is a gregarious mare and a real “talker” who likes to greet horses and riders alike when walking in from the pasture. She is a great addition to our program, and, like most Haflingers, custom made for the job at just the right sturdy size and temperament.

13.1hh Pony gelding, Born 2006

Pip aka “Pipsqueak” is a 13.1 pony gelding and, though he is small, he is mighty, just like our other precious ponies! Pip, like Sampson, is a rescue pony and a perfect example of how horses bloom into wonderful partners when given the right love and care. He is a perfect “therapy sized” pony and we are very happy to welcome him to the herd.

15hh Draft Cross gelding, Born 2013

Jake (From State Farm) has been a solid lesson horse and steady trail companion for many years. Most recently, he was ridden and loved by a 10 year old girl, and when her family moved across the country, Jake stayed in Tennessee. Saddle Up! became his new home. He will be right at home here with all the kiddos that can continue to learn from him.
